BMF nominated as beneficiary for Fone Free February, please support this cause

The Foundation has been nominated as a beneficiary of a fundraising initiative called Fone.Free.February. Essentially, the initiative is about getting together with friends and family during the month of February – no phones or technology allowed!

Here is what they say:

“The 2015 campaign is focused on taking back dinnertime and we are calling on individuals across Australia to host Fone Free dinners for their family, friends and colleagues, who make a donation for a seat at the table. Each dinner will raise money to help make a specific charity dream come true. One dinner free of distractions is all it takes, to be present in the moment and enjoy a meal with people closest to us.”

We are aiming to raise funds for the new Vision Maternity Care Hospital in Barhirdar, Ethiopia. Progress is being made now with the clearing of the old site to make way for the new building which will commence soon. In the meantime, Dr Andrew Browning and his wonderful team are still operating out of the ‘cowshed’ with 2000 successful births completed last year with zero deaths or injuries. These remarkable results are to be celebrated – so that in itself is a good reason to get friends and family together for a meal!

Please have a look at the Fone.Free.February website and think about getting together with your friends to help us reach our fundraising goal. Or you can simply donate online. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to call me.

We wish all our supporters a very happy 2015 and thank-you for your continued help in supporting Valerie, Andrew and their tireless teams.
